REVISED NOTICE
The
Woodbridge Fathers Baseball League (WFBL) is seeking Umpires for
their Cal Ripken (Baseball) Boys Minors Division for the upcoming 2008
Season. Anyone who has either umpired for the WFBL in past
Seasons or who may be interested for the first time and are 13 years or
older as of April 30th of this year may apply. The WFBL
uses Board Certified Umpires for its Boys Majors Division.
Basic
knowledge of Baseball rules is essential ; do NOT
apply if you have not played organized baseball in the past or if you
are not serious about working diligently at this job !!
Please note there will be a total of four (4)
structured classes that will be held for anyone interested in being an
Umpire this year, which will be MANDATORY for you to attend – the dates
are as follows :
1.
Tues., March 18th (6:30 – 8:30 PM)
– Physical sign-ups / initial orientation to the umpiring program
(Parents are strongly encouraged to attend with their children) – in
Center School Cafeteria
2.
Weds., March 26th (7:30 – 9:00 PM)
– in Center School Cafeteria
3.
Tues., April 1st (7:30 – 9:00 PM) –
in Center School Room #16
4.
Week of April 7th – training at
Ballfields {dates / times TBD}
These sessions are extremely
important and will include detailed reviews of
not only the 2008
Official Baseball Rules but all of the WFBL Local Rules /
Policies as well and will answer any pertinent questions you may have
pertaining to umpiring.
This is a great way to not only earn money but will also
give you an opportunity to give something back to your community by
making the games that much more enjoyable for all those who
participate. We look forward to be seeing you on March 18th
