BETH – WOOD BASEBALL LEAGUE (B – W) Opening Day Ceremonies held on Saturday, April 24th was a total success, helping us celebrate the start of our 38th year, and was attended by hundreds of parents, siblings, grandparents and dignitaries (it probably was one if not the largest crowds we have ever experienced at this event) !! Our thanks to all those organizations / groups as well who made it special – World Champion Taekwondo of Woodbridge, George Harte Nissan / Infiniti of West Haven, Woodbridge Garden Club, New Britain Rock Cats organization, Woodbridge Volunteer Fire Association, Woodbridge Democratic Committee and Beecher Road School Band …

The season is currently in full swing and all seems to be going very well – the weather this time of year is a little unpredictable but we always find a way to get the games played --

For our Minors and Majors, there will an end of the season Tournament that was well received last year – this Tournament will start the week of June 1st and will culminate in the League Championship Games being played at Acorn Hill on Thursday, June 17th. More details to follow on this at a later date …
 
 
B – W 2010 PROGRAM BOOK

Our annual Program Book was distributed on Opening Day to all League Commissioners, so everyone should have received your copy. This contains a wealth of information (Team Rosters, recognizes Team Sponsors, Ad patrons, etc.). If you did not get yours for some reason, please see your Team Manager and / or Coach immediately to obtain it …
 
 
B – W 2010 ALL STAR TEAMS

B - W has selected its All Star Managers for our 9’s, 10’s, 11’s and 12’s Teams this summer and the Minors & Majors Team Managers are currently in the process of nominating their Players to either the ‘A’ or ‘B’ Teams (depending on their level of commitment). Cal Ripken District Tournaments will start by mid – June … B – W will host the 9 – Year Old Districts starting the 2nd week in July ; more details to follow --

Also, Beth – Wood Baseball will once again host an 8 – Year Old Friendship Tournament during the entire month of July for those Players who are currently in Rookies and are 8 by April 30th. Last year we had 12 Teams throughout the State of CT participate and this Tournament culminates in a single elimination format the lat week in July. Manager and Player nominations will follow shortly but please see your Rookies Coach if you are interested in participating this summer !!
 
 
NEW BRITAIN ROCK CATS

The New Britain Rock Cats are offering a Beth – Wood Family Night at their park on Saturday evening, June 5th – this has been a great event the past few years and we hope to get a large turnout again this year ; this is also a fundraiser for the League, so the more people who attend will benefit the League.
